Pick-Up Policy at Latin American School
Policy Statement:
Latin American School (LAS) is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of our students. To facilitate a smooth and efficient pick-up process, we have established the following policy regarding the prompt collection of children from the school premises.
Policy Details:
- Pick-Up Time:
Parents, guardians, or authorized individuals must pick up their children from LAS no later than 1:00 PM, as specified by the designated end time of the school day or the specific program the child is enrolled in.
- Late Pick-Up Fee:
a. In the event of a late pick-up beyond the designated pick-up time, LAS reserves the right to charge a late pick-up fee. The fee will be applied in increments of 30 minutes.
b. A late pick-up fee of $15 will be charged for every 30-minute delay or portion thereof, commencing from the specified pick-up time. This fee is intended to cover the additional supervision and resources required to ensure the well-being of the child during the extended period.
- Communication:
a. It is the responsibility of parents, guardians, or authorized individuals to inform LAS in advance of any expected delays in pick-up time due to unforeseen circumstances. This will allow us to make appropriate arrangements and ensure the safety of the child.
b. LAS will maintain open lines of communication to facilitate timely updates regarding any delays or changes to the pick-up schedule. Parents and guardians are encouraged to notify the school office promptly if they anticipate being unable to pick up their child at the designated time.
- Late Pick-Up Procedure:
a. Upon arrival beyond the designated pick-up time, parents, guardians, or authorized individuals must report to the school office to complete necessary paperwork and make the required payment for the late pick-up fee.
b. LAS staff will ensure that the child is provided with appropriate care and supervision until the parent, guardian, or authorized individual arrives.
- Repeat Offenses:
a. In the event of repeat offenses or chronic late pick-ups, LAS reserves the right to take further action, including initiating a meeting with the parents or guardians to discuss the matter and explore potential solutions.
b. Continued non-compliance with the pick-up policy may result in additional consequences, such as the loss of certain privileges or enrollment restrictions.
- Waivers or Exceptions:
LAS recognizes that unforeseen circumstances may arise that can cause occasional delays in pick-up times. In such cases, LAS may, at its discretion, waive the late pick-up fee. However, this will be assessed on a case-by-case basis and should not be considered a regular practice or entitlement.
Policy Review:
This policy will be reviewed annually to ensure its effectiveness, relevance, and compliance with the needs and expectations of LAS and its stakeholders. Any necessary updates or modifications will be made in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and best practices.
By adhering to this policy, we aim to maintain a secure and structured environment for our students while also respecting the time and commitments of our staff. Your cooperation in promptly picking up your child from LAS is greatly appreciated.
Enrollment at LAS acknowledges that you have read, understood, and agree to comply with the Pick-Up Policy at Latin American School.
