Latin American School (LAS) is committed to providing equal opportunities for all students to access quality education. In line with this commitment, we have established a scholarship program to support deserving students who demonstrate academic achievement, financial need, and a commitment to their education. The following policy outlines the eligibility criteria, requirements, and application process for the LAS Scholarship Program.
Scholarship Policy:
- Eligibility & Requirements:
a. Grade Levels: The LAS Scholarship Program is open to students enrolled in Elementary school grades 2 through 12th grade.
b. Academic Achievement: Applicants must meet one of the following criteria: i. Recipient of the Principal’s Award ii. A-B Honor Roll iii. B-Honor Roll in the most recent progress report period.
c. Attendance: Applicants must have no more than five (5) absences from school.
d. Teacher Recommendation: All applicants must provide at least one (1) teacher recommendation highlighting their academic performance, work ethic, and character.
e. Financial Need: Scholarships will be awarded based on financial need. Applicants must demonstrate financial need by submitting the required documentation outlined in the application process.
- Scholarship Award:
a. The number and value of scholarships awarded each year will depend on available funding and the number of eligible applicants.
b. Scholarship recipients will receive financial assistance to cover a portion of their tuition fees, as determined by the LAS Scholarship Committee.
c. Scholarships are awarded for a specific academic year and are subject to review and renewal based on the student’s academic progress and continued financial need.
Scholarship Process:
- Application Submission:
a. Eligible applicants must complete the LAS Scholarship Application Form.
b. Along with the completed application form, applicants must submit the following documents to the school office or email them to admin@latinamericanschool.org:
i. Teacher Recommendation
ii. Current school attendance report
iii. Most recent progress report for the current academic year
iv. Complete Media Release Form
- Application Review:
a. The LAS Scholarship Committee will review all applications and assess eligibility based on the criteria outlined in the scholarship policy.
b. The committee will evaluate each applicant’s academic achievement, attendance record, teacher recommendation, and financial need.
- Award Notification:
a. Applicants will be notified of the scholarship decision by the LAS Scholarship Committee.
b. Successful scholarship recipients will receive an official scholarship offer letter detailing the awarded amount, terms, and conditions.
